Large scale printing?
i'm working as a graphic artist from a retail company, we pay alot of money just for advertising our products (billboards, catalogues, brochures etc...) but we are outsourcing them from other suppliers. my manager asked me to make a research on how we could produce them in house and reduce the costing. we are using vynil stickers for mall windows, cardboards for danglers and price tags. she also mentioned something about volume inks and she doesn't want printers that are using ink cartridges.
i need advices on what to consider before getting one. or any advice from you who'd been into this business.
volume ink- i think she's refering to those printer heads which are having a thin flexible tube (where the ink flows, i guess) and has cmyk containers on the side of the printer.
Hi! Having been a graphic designer who specialized in full-color print media, I question whether printing your own on a digital printer would be cost effective. Most likely that answer depends upon the quantity you need of certain items. However, that is up to you to decide. I will just give you some sources for digital printing.
There is a wealth of information on this particular site—printers, papers, inks, etc. You name it, and they cover it! The people that work here are great at answering questions, they have lots of articles on various topics that we face in digital printing, as well as a forum to ask questions or peruse for what others are asking:

The book recommended, Mastering Digital Printing:Second Edition, is fantastic! It is the only publication that I am aware of that covers this topic in depth:

It discusses "bulk ink systems," to which your boss is referring, and like everything else in the book it tells you what works and what doesn't work, as well as where to get them.
Paper may be your biggest consideration, as these printers do need specially coated papers. That again is discussed in the book in great detail.
